So today, for the first time, I walked to the beach with my dad and my twin brother, which happens to be a 3 minute walk from our new apartment. So as we were walking on the promenade, a police car pulls up, (not even on the street, on the lawn/pathway right next to us. A policewoman got out, took out this huge sniper gun, clicked the safety lock off, and walked a few feet away, pointing the gun across the street (ignoring us and my dad’s awkward hello). I promptly noticed a path off of the promenade onto the beach and pulled my family to go there.

So we walked almost to the Santa Monica Pier and then we went back the same way. At this point we had decided that this must have been a movie filming a long distance shot or something (it seemed way to bad-ass for real life). We walked back the same way we came, and in that same area, we saw a different police car across the street. So we walked over and my dad asked one of the officers what had happened, and he said there was an attempted murder suicide hostage situation deal in the apartment across the street, that the guy had multiple guns, and that he had had his gun out too. He also said that they had not yet captured the person. o.o

After searching, I only found one news source t yet that has reported this, and it’s dated from noon; we were there around 5, so I guess no one has the full story and the guy might still not be caught! So anyway, this is the craziness that is my life. Btw, I also found out today that there was a murder in the apartment below us a few years ago. :)

I’m going to miss this house. Actually having a backyard. This community. The quiet of living in the suburbs. But I’m really going to miss all the wonderful people and friends I’ve made here. Good night everyone! Tomorrow morning will bring me to Santa Monica!
